Italy Ti Amo - Chapter 3 (Mini Cooper, Verona and Buenos Aires Street)
The last of working day, our customers took us to the restaurant name Happy Duck in English. It was fun and it was my first time to get to know Italian people by chitchat. They are nice and friendly.
Along the way we talked about many things, my Thai colleague mention that she has seen many mini coopers along the way here and I agreed with her. So we brought this up in the conversation as well.
She said that her friend in Thailand really likes Mini Cooper but she couldn’t afford, coz the price in Thailand is really height (about 3 Million Bath) like you can buy a big house in Thailand. And if you buy a mini cooper for that price, you probably have no house, what is that sound like?
This gave our customers look taken aback, If I can read they face correctly, that’s mean “How could Mini Cooper be that expensive?” or “How could Thai house be that cheap?” haha
Since I’m not good at mathematics and the currency converter was hard on me. So I wait until somebody calculated it and the result was around 60, 000 EUR less or more.
They said that mini coopers here aren’t that expensive and for the same price you could probably buy only a small room. Hehe
Anyway, our customer has already thought to come to Thailand with a MINI then they can start a business here :P
The way back to the hotel, it was my first chance to see Milan night life. They usually hang out every Friday night. Unfortunately it was too freezing so we can’t walk that long. We arrive at the hotel that night and sleep a bit early.
The next morning, after breakfast we went to check out and move our bags to another hotel that near the city center. The 1 star hotel we booked name Verona. It’s good enough, at least we don’t find it hard to sleep.
We decided to go to Verona after check in the new hotel. But everything wasn’t going as plan. We went there a bit late and got lost by bus. It looks us almost 1 hour to find the way back. Then we didn’t manage to meet Romeo and Juliet’s house. And that is Things to Do in Verona! So sad huh?
Anyway, Verona is the plot of the story of Romeo and Juliet, make by William Shakespeare.
"Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whole misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children's end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend."
Verona is beautiful landscape; I have no doubt why Verona has been named UNESCO World Heritage Site. Even we were there only a few hours. But I can say that I like this town and I’m definitely coming back when I have a chance!
The reason why we haven’t had enough time was that we decided to see Milan once again as we want to go shopping on Buenos Aires Street. If we spent too much time on Verona then we cames back late and shops will be closed by that time, and the most important thing was that we haven’t check – in properly yet.
We spent another 3 hours on train the way back, and around 30 minutes by underground.
Finally we were there at the Buenos Aires Street. There was full of teenager and brand name shops. I don’t know which one is the most interesting thing. But obviously we went in and out many shops as on 50 - 80% SALDI.
It was fun that night… we shop till we drop. I didn’t get many items but I got a nice bag and 1 purple scarf, and that’s enough for my souvenir I guess.
After shopping, we still had a little bit more time to say good-bye the city. We had dinner at the self service restaurant.
The next morning, we cached up the bus to the airport. Along the way I was secretly waving a good-bye this city. I don’t know when I will come back, but I have already packed all good memory about the city back with me and after I promised to write down every detail I can remember. When someday I lost the picture of Italy or I can’t remember the detail I would read it again.
We reached the airport, but unfortunately I stumble and fall at the street in front of the airport. I walked a couple of steps, and then collapsed in a heap on the floor.
I found that my leg still wasn't working properly when I stood up, and I had to drag it behind me to the airport. Well, at least I was pretty clam, but yes fall wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience for me.
My colleague asked the check-in if the flight isn’t full, then we can have 3 seats and then I can rest my feet a bit.
The way back was faster, I still enjoyed the meal on the airplane even it was really hurts.
Anyway, when I arrived at Bangkok, the airport still working properly … and everything still ok.
I sink back in my bed, before start thinking about anything again my head was preparing in a shutdown mode, before I whispered to myself “Welcome back home!”
