Bangkok has been voted the best city in the world in an online poll by Travel + Leisure magazine.
Yes, there is no city like Bangkok! I must say I am very proud. But why everything changes so quickly.
I woke up this morning, opened the TV and the reporter said that we are under an emergency…
I suddenly think about the last year’s coup We have been under the control of a military appointed government. Until we’ve got a new government. But finally we are under a state of emergency this morning again...
But this time difference, it happens after groups of demonstrators clashed on the street, The street fighting escalated a confrontation between the government and protesters who had occupied the grounds of the prime minister's office for a week.
I’m not sure how governments are going to handle this situation… The protest broadened Monday when labor unions representing 200,000 workers at 43 state enterprises said they would cut off water, electricity and telephone service to government offices beginning Wednesday. Thai Airways employees said they would delay flights beginning Wednesday, and transportation workers said they would halt service on 80 percent of Bangkok's 3,800 buses….
School will be closed today and I heard that some company in the emergency area will be closed as well. For me, I’m fine… I am a bit far from the place they are protesting. Thanks everone for asking and I hope we are getting back to what we are again…
After 2 weeks of coup with all those tanks and army. We are already backing to the normal life with the country's interim Prime Minister, Army chief General Surayud Chulanont. A highly regarded 62-year-old retired officer. And Mr.Thaksin Shinawatra already resigned as leader of his party. The military council running pulled tanks and troops off the streets for the first time since it ousted on Sept 19.
So I think we are backing to the normal life. I’m glad so far, not because we got the new Prime Minister or the old one has resigned, but I am happy with that bloodless coup. Hopefully bring us back to peaceful and smile land once again.
It’s not in Thailand, Where it was Business as usual, but today we experienced its first military coup for 15 years, an unexpected move the army commander overthrew the government. But People seems living their life the same, no one know what’d they think. But I guess if I am right they are kind of happy. Yesterday I went to Jatujak weekend market, it wasn’t surprise me that there were crowded and people seems living their life just the same, I ask the seller that is the reform effected her ? She said yes. Around 5:30pm I seem some shop closing, I doubt that why they close so early. The owner of one shop said It was about the coup.
Well, yes I understand. We having a curfew, people need to go home a little bit early than usual. I drove my car back home and think about the good and bad thing in the situation right now. But still have no answer. Along the way I seen the lights and all the bars are still open, Seems like people are totally happy with this situation and welcome for the army.
I turn on the radio to listen and heard that some of the school allow the student to go and take a photo with the army, and some of the guide tour lead their travelers to take the pictures with the tanks and the soldiers. As well as their parents will take their kids to the army, and they will have a chance to play with the tanks and all that. =S
Yesterday I was on my way back home, friend of mine phone me and said “you need to go back home now, something bad happening… and then I suddenly thought about the
Yes a few months ago in the Thailand. Thai political has been a mess. I reached home very late anyway and along the way I heard a lot of people were talking about coups, I got a few phone calls from my friend and my roommate, I phoned my mom and asked her if she know something but she seems doesn’t know anything yet.. I told her to turn on the TV then she did, she said oh.. nothing on TV, I've seen only the picture of the king in every channels. I ran to my room and found that she said was true.. I and my roommate wait till see the announcement from the reform group.
Oh gosh... they were a group of the army. Well, they said they are gona reform the democracy, btw the prime Ministry was in London. I stayed up late till 3 am and heard the second announcement, sound like nothing much to be serious, everything will take 2 weeks then after that they will find the new prime ministry and reform the new government. So far I didn’t understand that much why they need to block CNN and BBC yesterday. I kind of understand that the Army did this thing for the people and the political has been a mess, A lot of people in Bangkok being lost faith in The Prime ministry and we were gona have a new election soon but no one think it will help in this kind of situation. A few months ago there were a protest, a big one around and will be happen again. That’s may be the army need to do this.
So far I was in shocked a little while, I never have thought that in my life I will have to face with this kind of thing before… the army picking up guns and driving tanks and also everybody are not allow to gathering. We are allowed to living our life the same, So far good thing is thai people trust in the army so everybody is happy to know that we are gona get the new prime minister (hopefully will be a good one).
