I’m so happy I have 7 days off because next week is Songkran Festival. Songkran is the Thai New Year. We celebrated it every year on 13 April to 15 April. It’s water-throwing festival obviously. People on the streets with containers of water or water guns and drench each other and passersby.
Actually Songkran is a time to visit and pay our respects to elders such as family and friends. The old traditional is to pouring a small amount of water to other people hands, it’s sing of respect.
Nowadays, the water-throwing is the most obvious celebrations of Songkran. And that is why I’ve never joined the festival. They make it more like water fights. People are throwing water at each other like crazy.
Anyway, it’s supposed to be
fun festival. So happy Songkran Everybody! And don’t forget Water- use it Wisetly!
Happy New Year to you all! ^_^

If you have ever been to Bangkok, and shopping at Siam Center. I think you might hear about this restaurant. Yes I’m talking about “Som Tam Nua”. This restaurant is super famous in Bangkok and getting famous everyday.
If you have ever been thinking to visit, I might have to warn you a bit… you should at least booking in advance 2 hours. Or else you need to wait in front of the shop at least 30 mins or so, if you are in luck.
I’ve been there a few years ago; my friend came to visited me. But I can’t get in that restaurant. There was a crowd and we just couldn’t wait.
Every time I want to go eat Som-Tam, I always think about that restaurant and refused to get in later.
But a month ago, I wanted to try again… and I did it. I’ve seen a Thai singer was sitting at the table opposite mine, No doubt anymore why this resto is famous, Ha!
We ordered many foods, Som Tam Thai, Lab, Fried Chicken and etc… everything were good, delicious. Of course after we have been waiting about 30 mins. I am so greatful they finally let me in. :P
If you are a foreigner, don’t let yourself having a hard time ordering the food there, especially Som Tam. Just tell them directly you want Som-Tam-Thai. The one with fresh papaya, peanuts, dried shrimps. They have many kind of Som Tam, You can tell them if you don’t like spicy too.
If anyone visiting Bangkok or want to try. Want map? This restaurant is just around Siam Square, soi 4, be careful coz there are a plenty of Som Tam Resto Around there nowadays. They just opened another branch somewhere near Kaset too. Check out if you near there.
I was searching for my old photograph coz my friend wants to know how I looked like last 6 years ago.I found my photo and can’t help myself to laugh… It wasn’t me… was it?
Remembering it was the time that I was so worry about my weight and then I found myself can’t stop to work-out every day till I lost 22lbs! I was stressed when I want to ate and felt guilty all the time about eating something fat or even carbohydrates.
I don’t understand the word “healthy” but I was concern only about my “beauty” more than anything else. (Is that beauty?)
It was the same time that Thai girl start to obsessive to the shape more than anything else. Some try to lose weight in the wrong way… Some killed her because she is fat! Will you believe that???? That’s insane and quite sad… but I have to admit was like that before… ^__^!
We have been told by those magazine and TV that a beautiful girl is the girl who skinny, slim like those model. It’s doesn’t mean she has to be in good shape, but she is underweight!
So beautiful girl for me 6 years ago has to be skinny…. I was tend to have that beautiful as much as I can… every time I lost my weight … It’s mean am coming close to a person who i want to be.
I was work-out everyday and found that my weight was still the same, so I increase the time for my work-out to be more than an hour. After an hour I found it was still the same, I kept doing it for a month and found I still fat (actually I was a bit above average). I was thinking may be because of my diet. I changed the way to eat only vegetable, less carbohydrates, no fried foods and no something sweet. And it was working!
Anyway it wasn’t satisfied for me yet, I tend to work out harder, and I took 2 classes of an aerobics everyday… and found my body was so firm. But I was dizzy afterwards.
Everybody was notice then they kept asking me what I did…. Of course I felt good and still blind…As I said I was working out harder and harder…. The result I got was good but soon enough my knees were almost broken. I went to see the doctor and he advises me to stop working out… How dare he was? I didn’t care and still went to the gym every single day…
A month later my knees has become swollen and painful so I have to stop. Almost 6 months I didn’t go to the gym and I found that I had more time for myself to do another thing… I use to spent 3 hours in the gyms from 7pm till 10pm or someday untill midnight. I was almost forgetting the time I was working out crazy like that until I gained weight…
Day by day I found myself enjoyed eating more than anything else… which I don’t know why… every food was so delicious! (Later I know from the book It was an Yoyo effect)
I refused to go back working out again as I was expecting before, coz I was too ashamed to see my trainer or anyone else in the gyms…I was pictureing everyone insulting me...and of course I don’t want to be a looser! I use to be everyone inspiration… but look at me? I hate the mirror more than anything else!
It wasn’t an easy when you suddenly know that your blue sky has faded away… I use to come close to that beautiful girl, but now I was too far from that.Anyway time taught me so many things, I pass that period of time and focus to my work instead, of course it wasn’t an easy.
A year later I went to another country and found that there were many people who don’t care about their shape, but how can they survive. This world is full of people who hunger and died from that.
It was the time that I finally knew the meaning of life. I lost my time with that silly thing, I broked my knees coz I want to be a beautiful girl. How silly was that? I tend to be a skinny girl for what? Was I happy? Can I avoid the heartache? Did people respect me more?
I was realize that I won't spend my time to think with that nonsense ever again… I won’t let those magazine change me or even brainwash me ever again!
So that was me 6 years ago…Now I admit that I encourage people to work out even myself but everything needs to be in middle road. You need to find your balance, and more than anything else don’t let somebody lose your a confident! Now I need to borrow this slogan …
I believe every thai people know very well about him. Even it has been almost 1000 years ago since 1555 - April 25,but the story of King Naresuan has never been fade away from Thai people’s mind as well as the battle between him with the Burmese’s king.

The following year Naresuan himself attacked Tenasserim (a city state of at the time), as well as in 1593.
The Thais call him “the Great” because he extended (and united) Ayuthaya (the capital of the Thai state) to include Lanna, , and some parts of . He enforced strict discipline on his soldiers and the people.
